For over 15 years Dr. Jonathan Adkins has earned the reputation of being a gifted bariatric surgeon whose weight loss surgical procedures and wise nutritional counsel have successfully transformed the lives and health of countless patients who have struggled with a lifetime of obesity.
Dr. Adkins’ skilled hands are guided by the heart of a devoted husband and father, and the ears of sympathetic listener with a keen understanding of the weight loss challenges his patients face - both physically and mentally. With many years of education*, professional training, and board certifications, Dr. Adkins, currently, holds the distinction of being the only fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon in Central Mississippi.
Additionally, Dr. Adkins is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is on the medical staff at Baptist Health Systems, St. Dominic Hospital, and Merit Health River Oaks Hospital.
